CBOLD (Comparative Bantu Online Dictionary) was started in 1994 by Larry Hyman and John Lowe to produce a lexicographic database to support and enhance the theoretical, descriptive, and historical linguistic study of the languages in the Bantu family. This dataset for Ndebele was converted from CSV to TEI Lex-0 by the Saxon Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Leipzig. Ein Wörterbuch für Ndebele, ursprünglich erstellt durch das CBOLD-Projekt. CBOLD (Comparative Bantu Online Dictionary) wurde 1994 von Larry Hyman und John Lowe initiiert um eine lexikografische Datenbank zu schaffen, welche die theoretische, deskriptive und historisch-linguistische Erforschung der Sprachen der Bantu-Familie fördern soll.
